š± Launch of the Open Acoustics Foundation
Much valuable acoustic software disappears once a research project ends orĀ remainsĀ accessible to only a handful of insiders. We believe that needs to change.Ā
That is why members of TU/e Building Acoustics have founded the Open Acoustics Foundation, an independent non-profitĀ organisationĀ with a clear mission: to create healthy,Ā comfortableĀ and good-sounding buildings and living environments for everyone. We pursue this by supporting open-source projects and their communities in the field of acoustics: giving them visibility,Ā organisingĀ events, and providing funding for software maintenance.
The first supported project is CHORAS: a web-based platform where users can access advanced simulation software from international research groups in one open-source unified environment.
In September, we will introduce ourselves to the international community in our booth at Forum Acusticum 2026 in Graz.
Join the community that contributes to open science and better acoustics for everyone, a home for developers,Ā users, donorsĀ and sponsors. Have a look at https://openacoustics.foundation
