Successful third edition of ASSA

🎉 The 3rd edition of our Autumn School Series in Acoustics at Eindhoven University of Technology, hosted by TU/e Building Acoustics was a great success! This year’s edition was co-organized and sponsored by EAA European Acoustics Association, bringing another week of intensive, nine-to-five, on-site learning to participants from across Europe.

🎓 ASSA 2024 was designed to elevate expertise, offering a deep dive into computational acoustics, and building and room acoustics through lectures and tutorials. The feedback from participants this wek has been overwhelmingly positive, underscoring the value of this learning experience.

🙌 We are incredibly grateful for the top-tier lecturers and their supporting students. Their dedication—reflected in the impressive preparation and heartwarming enthusiasm during interactive lectures and tutorials—was inspiring. Our participants matched this energy with their commitment to make the most out of this training week.

👥 🍻 But ASSA is more than just a training program. This year, we welcomed 55 participants from 16 countries and 19 lecturers. With daily coffee breaks, lunches, an opening and closing gathering, and our ASSA dinner, this school fostered an excellent environment for connecting early-stage researchers and lecturers. Together, we created a lively, collaborative atmosphere that made Eindhoven this week the European hub for acoustics education (to paraphrase an ASSA lecturer 😊 )!

🙏 A special thanks goes to our sponsors — EAA European Acoustics Association, Merford, Nieman Groep, NTi Audio, and EAA Young Acousticians Network (YAN) — for supporting this focused training of emerging acoustics professionals.

🍁 We’ll enjoy the afterglow of ASSA2024 for a while and then tune in again with news about ASSA2025!
