Find out about our latest Acta Acustica paper! We experimentally explored the use of a heel drop as an impact source to quantify the impact sound performance of lightweight wooden floors. A impact force plate was used for this purpose. At low frequencies, the measurement quality using the help drop is higher compared to an impact hammer, whilst keeping a linear response.
