Today I signed the contract as Associate Professor at Eindhoven University of Technology in the research field of Urban Acoustics! I am happy with this new step in my career and eager to continue the collaboration in and outside my research team. There are great challenges ahead of us. To mention some, we pursue on the research line of detailed numerical acoustics in the built environment such that the acoustics of real-life built environments can be made visible ánd audible. We are making progress in this field in terms of numerical developments and our open source software tool, and hope to involve practitioners in the near future! Another challenge is the project Acoutect that just started. We coordinate this project, and hope to boost the research field of acoustics in buildings, with new knowledge, tools and young experts. All in all much to look forward to!
