Sai Charan Trikootam has started today as a PhD student in our Building Acoustics chair on project titled: Numerical modelling of sound propagation in the atmospheric boundary layer (ABL).
The project aims to develop a numerical method for 3D sound propagation in the atmospheric boundary layer involving complex meteorological conditions. The method can be used to compute sound propagation from environmental noise source as trains, road traffic, airplanes and wind turbines, to the built environment, and will be incorporated in the openPSTD software The PhD project is embedded in the national project ‘Tools to tackle environmental health problems’.
